A Decade of Centenaries

Included in a series of talks at the City Hall chaired by Belfast historian, Dr Jonathan Bardon -

  • Wednesday 17 October 2012  in the City Hall, 7.15pm
    Talk by Graham Walker on The Characters of the Covenant – Edward Carson, Craig, Thomas Sinclair etc with archive film footage from Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive.
  • Wednesday 24 October 2012 in the City Hall, 7.15pm
    1912, a Hundred Years On – drama by Philip Orr and Alan McGuckan – a one-hour show telling the story of an eventful year in Ulster’s history in a thought provoking way.

Tickets are available for these City Hall events, free of charge, from the Belfast Welcome Centre. Call 028 9024 6609 or call into the Welcome Centre at 47 Donegall Place, Belfast.


Also at the City Hall in the East Entrance is the Decade of Centenaries Exhibition that shows Belfast in the 1912-1914 period – includes photographs, archive film footage and artefacts. The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. It is available until the end of February 2013.

  • Monday 22 October 2012, 7.00pm and Wednesday 24 October 2012, 1.00pm
